Описание
This sculpture depicts Venus, the Roman goddess of love and beauty, scalding a child cupid. The setting for the marble sculpture is a working from the story 'Psyche and Cupid' whereby Venus becomes envious of Psyche and puts her through a series of trials to test her love for Cupid. Here she is confronting cupid.
